Tai Sui or Tai Shui, is a very important aspect of Chinese Astrology. It is mostly known as the Grand Duke of Jupiter. It is an intangible energy body of War-like nature, that should not be disturbed. The Tai Sui or sometimes called “the Year Authority”, is a commanding post that has total control over that particular year. The Chinese Lunar Year Cycle has 60 years and so there are 60 Tai Sui, with every year having a different Tai Sui.
The position of Tai Sui corresponds to the year Earth branch (the animal sign of the year) of any given year. In the compass it occupies 15 degrees. In 2011, Tai Sui is situated at the East. DO NOT disturb the ground of this area at all costs. If you live in an East facing property or your front door is facing East, you must be extra careful.
